116D Oliver referbish
Here are a couple pictures of pulling the motor from my 1954 Oliver 116D 36" bandsaw.
Anything i have ever read about pulling these motors has included smashing with a battering ram, hammering for days and slowly beating it out. I decided to try pulling it with my gantry crane.
I must say it was just a piece of cake. I started a 9:00 Band saw standing straight up at 11:00 i was done.
I was working by myself so i took my sweet time laying it on it's side. With a 1 tone and a 3 ton hoist and a few blocks it went just fine. I pulled a couple, of the bolts and replaced with some studs and a coupling nuts and a eye hooks. Slipped a bar through the eyes and a short choker and pulled the motor out. The first segment was easy. The second part also came out easy but i had to be very ginger.  I vacuumed the opening out cleaned all around the inside faces and greased the inside flange. Than got the motor hanging just right and pulled it out.
Another 2 hours motors apart just about ready for cleaning

After 5 years plus, finally have it up and running in my shop
